the manual ECU is not required. Just pull apart the gauge cluster and remove the ABS (if you have it) and transmission lights. you'll have to jerry rig the neutral start switch for both starting and cruise control. LHD conversion is actually pretty easy. it's been covered several times more recently than this thread too. To swap either over to an auto trans 7M, you will need the corresponding flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, and clutch actuation parts (clutch fork, slave cyl, etc) and driveshaft for that gearbox, as the clutch/flywheel configuration and driveshaft output shaft for the W58 and R are different and cannot be interchanged.
